Ordering & Payment

Cochranes of Oxford operates a mail order business with several ways of ordering :

1: Quotation requests and purchase orders from schools, universities, other government institutions and businesses.  Create your order in our website’s basket and send this to us with your order / quotation request. E-mail your purchase order or quotation request to sales@cochranes.co.uk.

2: Online with payment by credit or UK debit card 24 / 7. Our website includes the following features to make your shopping as pleasant as possible:

• A tailor-made browsing and searching environment to help find relevant products
• Delivery options and costs for your delivery country shown in your basket
• Pricing and payment in pounds, euros and US dollars to suit your preference
• Easy and secure checkout and account set-up process.
• Storing of your billing and delivery addresses for future orders
• For security reasons we do not store / remember your credit card details.
• The secure server holding account information (names, addresses etc) is secured with 256 bit SSL Encryption with firewall protection and holds a Thwarte Digital Certification.
  

3: By telephone on +44(0)1993 832868 Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm. Our small office team will take your order by telephone. Payment may be made by credit or UK debit card or arrangements made for you to pay by other means if this isn’t possible. Other forms of payment will result in delays to your order as we wait for receipt of the money by our bank.

What currency will I pay for my order in?

You will pay for your order in the currency displayed on the order confirmation page, also displayed in your basket when you checkout. The price displayed when you confirm your order will be the price you pay when your order is processed and will not change.  This amount will be charged to your credit/debit card in the currency displayed

Pricing and VAT for orders delivered within the UK

VAT is payable for items delivered to destinations in the UK.

We supply customers with many different situations regarding VAT. As a customer, you may be used to seeing prices either including or excluding VAT.

You can select the VAT display option alongside your delivery country and currency. This will determine whether prices include VAT when browsing or searching on our website.  Whichever option you choose for browsing, the basket and order confirmation screens will display the VAT separately from the price of the products, so the product prices shown will be excluding VAT.

Pricing and VAT for orders delivered outside the UK

We will not charge VAT for orders delivered outside the UK. However, you may be liable for import duties and taxes. For more information on this, please see the Delivery Information.

Quantity discounts are shown against each product. Some products such as spare model atoms may be offered 'in bulk'. This means that the product may come in one pack rather than in several packs. If you wish the product to come in several smaller packs, please contact us by email with your requirement.

Card Payments

We do not store your credit card details on our website. Credit and debit card payments are processed by SagePay. Sage Pay has the highest level of card data security (PCI DSS Level 1 compliant) so you can shop with confidence and security.

Invoicing

We can invoice you if you are a government office, registered company, university or school. Unless you have an established account with us, we will require proof of validity of the order (e.g. an official order or letter on your headed paper) and may require payment by proforma invoice before despatching the goods.
